Each offers a guided tour of local manufacturers and provides time for questions and answers at the conclusion of the tour. Tour seats are limited, so register early.

Note: Should a new plant tour be announced after you have registered, you will have the ability to change your selection. Transportation to and from the convention center and the plant will be provided. All attendees must utilize this transportation to gain access to the tour.

Originally opened in April 2016, the Customer Experience Center in Pittsburgh focuses on the industrialization of additive manufacturing.

What Attendees Will See:

  • Tour the GE Additive Customer Experience Center focusing on the industrialization of additive manufacturing

  • Walk through a full additive manufacturing facility to see the operations from powder to final part and understand the full value stream of additive

  • Collaborate with the GE Additive team on product design, materials selection, process optimization, and look at the complete product development process

  • Request product prototypes and schedule low-rate production of their additive parts. The team will even guide you through what it takes to set up your own additive facility

What Attendees Will See:

  • To begin, members of the Seegrid team will give background on our technology, how it works, and the types of applications our vehicles typically perform, giving examples from Seegrid customers in real-world manufacturing settings. We will encourage interactive conversation. Seegrid application engineers (AEs) will be on-hand to talk to attendees about the challenges they’re facing and recommend applications for their facilities.
  • We’ll then provide a live demo of our self-driving vehicles in action before proceeding to our manufacturing area.
  • In our manufacturing area, attendees will witness the transformation of stock OEM forklifts into robots that navigate using cameras and advanced algorithms. The tour will include stops in vehicle build and outgoing quality assurance. Attendees will learn how Seegrid approaches the high-mix low-volume (HMLV) production of self-driving industrial vehicles for automated material movement.

➤ Philips - RIST Facility (Respironics Inc., Sleep Therapy)

Philips

The RIST facility is part of the Sleep & Respiratory Care business group within Philips’ Personal Health Segment. RIST’s primary product is a product known as a “CPAP” (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) device, which is used to treat patients with sleep apnea. RIST is also beginning to produce portable oxygen concentrators to assist people with respiratory systems that do not produce sufficient amounts of oxygen.

What Attendees Will See:

➤ Benshaw

Benshaw

Benshaw’s Pittsburgh headquarters and operations center provides customer service, research and development, sales and marketing, support, engineering, logistics, and administrative services. This center houses manufacturing, testing, and warehousing for low and medium voltage motor control solutions. 

What Attendees Will See:

  • Benshaw’s unique “build-to-order” capability is supported by a pre-engineered real-time engineering
    database, an automated order entry system, and an extensive inventory of control components, protective relays, circuit breakers, contactors, enclosures and other devices … all designed to ensure the quickest shipment of engineered products in the industry.
  • After assembly, Benshaw’s Quality Assurance Department inspects each control unit for compliance to design documents and sales order descriptions. Full QA inspections include a review of functional tests, an overall workmanship assessment, cosmetic assessments, and a technical review of each configured product. QA inspection reports are archived prior to shipment.
