All employees, at all levels of responsibility, should be empowered to fulfill their role in contributing to a safety culture. Since a culture is a collective set of customs, beliefs, values and ways of doing things, building a safety culture by necessity should involve everyone. History and past failures have taught us not to build a safety program in isolation because a safety program is only as successful as the ability of its surrounding environment (culture) to support or sustain it. Sustainable processes and safety programs must be built simultaneously. This session will examine how an organization's employee base can strengthen its ability to fulfill its mission, which includes maintaining a safe workplace and workforce.
